This is a community led initiative working alongside Communities Prepared and our Housing Association, looking at how we can make our community more resilient and prepared to deal with the impacts associated with climate change. Increasing demands placed upon already overstretched public services and the detrimental and increasing climate impacts will create a shortfall in terms of protecting our homes. We need to be prepared for more difficult times ahead and learn how to adapt to increasing heatwaves, possible flooding, water shortages and power outages. Working alongside other communities we can learn how best to accomplish this and be guided by the growing number of organisations which are developing strategies and support around community resilience. These webpages are designed to bring together resources and information for our community to use but also to generate discussion and connect us to the organisations who oversee the safety of our homes. Please take some time to look at some of the information that has been put together. Also please give any feedback (using the feedback page here) that you have about any current and future concerns related to climate change impacts and how you anticipate they might affect you and where you live.
